About Us
Light Up Hoad is a community festival that will take place in Ulverston on Saturday 29th March 2025.
The festival is organised and managed by a volunteer management committee, comprising: Graham Scrogham, Caroline Smith, Neil Fleming, working in collaboration with a number of local partner organisations.

Financial support has been provided by Ulverston BID and MARL, which helps towards providing the event free of charge to participants.
The main event is located on Hoad Hill, including the Sir John Barrow Monument. Ford Park will be used as the base for organisers, including the event control point, first aiders, car parking, and toilets.
The event features hundreds of participants walking up the front of Hoad Hill at dusk, forming a line of torches from the foot of the hill up to the monument. The monument will initially be lit red at dusk. At the appointed time, the monument lighting will be changed to amber, followed by green. Torches, lighting effects, and live music, will help to make the evening fun and memorable.
